We have two levels of membership at the Trust, one for local residents (below), and for our supporters living outside Point and Sandwick (Friends of the Trust, further down this page).
Full Trust Membership
We are very happy to welcome members from the local community to officially join the Trust.
All electors resident in the districts of Point and Sandwick (comprising 16 villages from Sandwick in the west of the Eye Peninsula to Tiumpan Head in the east) are eligible to register as a member. There is no deposit required for membership and no obligated activities.
What does membership mean?
- As a member of the Trust you will be invited to attend the Annual General Meeting, held annually in November
- You will be entitled to vote for Board members in the Board elections
- You will receive updates on our activities by email once a quarter.
The 3 turbines at Beinn Ghrideag will earn £25 million in net income over the next 25 years – an average of £1 million a year. Every penny of that will be given to the Trust to achieve our aims and informed by extensive community consultation.
This wind farm is yours – the turbines belong 100% to the community. Please show your support and have your say by signing up as a member today!
